HST 101 Wing / Cope In-Person
Students will be required to build a bibliography of scholarly books and articles. They need to be trained in navigating the resources of the library through OneSearch and databases such as JSTOR, Academic Search Complete, and WorldCat. The topic of the class is the Narvaez Expedition, 1527-1536 and the account of the expedition by Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca. So, they will be researching themes related to this specific expedition, but also related themes like the Spanish empire, encounters with Indigenous peoples of North America, exploration, etc.
